Scholar, Educator, & Small-Business Owner
I have a PhD in History, a BA in English & African Studies, and over a decade of teaching, writing tutoring, and editing experience. Besides running Tarastotle Tutoring, I teach history at a small liberal arts college.
Through synchronous and asynchronous consulting options, I offer comprehensive and personalized coaching that will improve the quality of your writing projects and help you become a better writer.
I collaborate with a diverse array of undergraduate and graduate students as well as professionals on a variety of writing projects. I am dedicated to helping you achieve your writing goals!

My Services
I specialize in editing PhD dissertations, MA theses, Fulbright and other research grant proposals, and essays for college or graduate school courses.
I can also assist clients with a wide variety of other writing projects at any stage of the writing process.
I offer asynchronous editing (using Track Changes in Microsoft Word or Suggestion Mode in Google Docs) as well as synchronous tutoring (via Zoom or phone call).
I am familiar with APA and Chicago citations and formatting styles.
All consultations are virtual, so I can work with clients across the U.S. and around the world.

Typically a polished late-stage draft
Checking for clarity and flow and correcting typos, grammar mistakes, etc. at the sentence level
Requires no more than 2 edits per 300 words

Line Editing
Typically a mid- or late-stage draft
Editing to improve grammar, diction, syntax, clarity, and flow at the sentence and paragraph levels
Requires no more than 2 edits per 150 words

Developmental Editing
Typically an early- or mid-stage draft
Editing to improve grammar, diction, syntax, clarity, and flow at the sentence and paragraph levels as well as commenting on the quality of the content (argument, evidence, analysis, etc.)
Requires extensive edits in the text and detailed feedback in the margins
